Kulturwelten Summer Academy 2026

Dear Musicians,
The Kulturwelten Summer Academy Bregenz is taking place this year at the beautiful Villa Liebenstein, the Headquarter of the Bregenz Music School, in the centre of Bregenz. From 14 to 19 of July 2026, just before the start of the Bregenzer Festspiele, there will be a special opportunity for pupils and students of all ages and abilities to take instrumental lessons with the musicians of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Lecturers of Austrian Universities and other Institutions. In the course of the Summer Academy, consisting of five instrumental lessons and other activities, there will be plenty of time to learn from the experience of the professionals, study personal repertoire, refine technical aspects and socialise. Instrumental Lessons at the Villa Liebenstein
The Kulturwelten Summer Academy 2026 in Bregenz will take place from 14 to 19 of July at the Villa Liebenstein, which is the Main Building of the Bregenz Music School, the local infrastructure is ideal for making music and will serve as an home for our participants for this exciting week. By registering for the academy, participants will receive:
– 5 instrumental or vocal lessons of 45 minutes each
– Piano Accompaniment, if required
– Free admission to all events on offer
– A beautiful certificate for the participants
– If the level of performance is sufficient, we invite our participants to the final concert in the Mozart Hall of the Villa Liebenstein.
As an alternative to full participation in the Academy, you can opt for Passive Participation, which gives you full access to the Academy’s Programme but excludes active Instrumental Lessons. A Day Ticket offers the opportunity to passively participate in the Academy on a specific day.
Yoga for Musicians
Workshop with Fanny Mas
Regular physical practice enables musicians to make music in a healthy and pain-free way bypreparing the muscles for playing, providing balance after playing, training body awareness and improving breathing perception. In this workshop, participants will learn why yoga is ideally suited as a daily companion for musicians and what it can achieve. After a brief introduction to the physical practice and its philosophy, we will practice easy yoga poses together that can be integrated into everyday life. The participants receive instrument-specific tips to accompany body and mind during intensive music-making.
Preventive Physiotherapy for Musicians
Workshop with Florian Gall
“Make Music with ease and without any pain”
In order to achieve this goal, course participants will learn exercises to improve body awareness, which is an important component for mobility and stability in the musculoskeletal system. It is often trained one-sided incorrect loading that causes overloading symptoms in tendons, muscles and joints. And the resulting posture patterns can cause pain when making music. I would like to draw attention to the possible consequences of poor posture on the musculoskeletal system
and how to prevent overuse injuries at an early stage.
Mykola Myroshnychenko
Piano Accompaniment for Instruments
Pianist Mykola Myroshnychenko, born in Ukraine in 2001, has been studying piano since 2022 in the classes of Anna Adamik and Yunus Kaya at the Stella Vorarlberg Private University of Music. In 2020, he earned his Junior Specialization Diploma under Mikhail Levandovsky at the Kharkiv Musical College “B. Lyatoshinsky,” and in 2025 he completed his bachelor’s degree in piano and organ under Igor Sediuk at the Kharkiv P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts. Mykola Myroshnychenko achieved success in competitions at the XI International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz (2016) and the William Knabe International Piano Competition 2019 in the U.S. In 2022, he received first prize at the Stella Music Prize at the Stella College of Music. In 2025, he won first prize at the Danubia Talents International Music Competition in Budapest. At the Stella College of Music, he has already gained his first teaching experience in accompaniment. Starting in January 2025, he has been working at the Bregenzerwald Music School as an accompanist, and since September 2025 at the Leiblachtal Music School. He has performed as a soloist with the Stella Vorarlberg University Symphony Orchestra and has given concerts as part of the Lake Constance Festival and in the concert series of the Chopin Society of Vorarlberg. In addition to the piano, Mykola Myroshnychenko plays the organ, harpsichord, violin, cello, double bass, and guitar. As part of the Bregenz Festival in 2024–2025, he performed the celesta part in the opera *Der Freischütz*. In 2026, he went on a concert tour in Canada, giving four concerts.
